Mug cake
The term "mug cake" is derived from the way the cake is prepared.
The basis for the quantities of ingredients is an empty cup (200 ml content), which is used as
Measuring cup. Mug cakes are perfect for baking beginners,
a scale is not necessary.
For one sheet you need:
2 cups flour
1 cup Kölln Instant Oat Flakes
1 cup sugar
1 cup of oil
1 cup of lemonade, water or juice
4 eggs
1 packet of baking powder
For the icing:
1 pack of powdered sugar (250 g)
4 tbsp juice, lemonade or water
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 180°C fan/convection oven. Mix all ingredients together. Spread the batter on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake for 25-30 minutes (test with a toothpick). Then let it cool. Stir the powdered sugar into juice, lemonade, or water until smooth and spread it over the cake.
Of course, you can spice up the cake with:
- Add fresh berries such as raspberries, blueberries, currants or strawberries to the dough
- Fold in chopped nuts such as hazelnuts, walnuts or almonds
- Add zest of lemon or orange - for a fresh aroma in the dough
- Chocolate in the form of chocolate drops or as a glaze for the cake
Our tip:
You can also bake the cake in a springform pan or muffin tin. Please reduce the amount by 1/3.
