Founded in 1903, the Markenverband (Brand Association) is the leading organization of the brand industry in Germany and, with nearly 300 members, the largest association of its kind in Europe. As a cross-sector association, it pools the interests of its members and represents them in dialogue with partners in politics, trade, media, administration, and the public. It advocates for fair competition, the protection of intellectual property, and free communication with self-determined consumers.
Since May 2024, Friederike Driftmann-Egelhof, the 7th generation of the family, has been managing the food company “Peter Kölln”, founded in 1820 in Elmshorn, which is best known for its “Blütenzarte Köllnflocken” (flower-soft Kölln flakes) and is the market leader for muesli, porridge and oat flakes in Germany.
"I am honored and very pleased by the trust placed in me," said Friederike Driftmann-Egelhof about her new volunteer position. "The Brand Association plays a crucial role in promoting and protecting brands. I am firmly committed to representing the interests of our members together with my fellow board members and further strengthening the brand landscape in Germany."
