Oats: The local superfood

Did you know? In 2017, oats were named Medicinal Plant of the Year in Germany. No wonder, because as a wholegrain product it supports balanced blood sugar and cholesterol levels – and all naturally. A real superfood that fits into every healthy lifestyle.

To ensure that our oat products are always of the best quality, we use a mixture of German, Scandinavian and regional oats. Oats find optimal conditions, especially in Finland and Sweden: mild temperatures, long summer days and nutrient-rich soils ensure large, light and aromatic oat kernels – the perfect basis for our Kölln products.

Dark chocolate is the pure essence of cocoa – made without the addition of milk, which brings out its strong aroma. Depending on the cocoa content, the taste varies from pleasantly bitter to intensely bitter:

• Dark chocolate contains at least 50 % cocoa - the perfect balance between sweet and bitter.
• Bitter chocolate goes one step further and has at least 60 % cocoa content – for those who like it even more intense.
• Chocolate with 35 % cocoa delivers a strong but milder chocolate taste – without bitterness.

It is precisely this harmonious interplay of whole milk and dark chocolate flakes that creates the ultimate taste experience in Kölln Oat Muesli Chocolate – creamy, crunchy and just the right amount of sweet.

Strongly nutty and simply indispensable: hazelnuts are one of the most popular muesli ingredients. Whether chopped, as flour or as crunchy brittle – they give our Kölln mueslis their unique taste and provide the perfect crunch.

The hazelnut bush belongs to the birch family and thrives particularly well in the Mediterranean countries and on the Black Sea. The largest hazelnut production takes place in Turkey – more precisely on the Hazelnut Coast, a region on the Black Sea.
